Abstract
This article explores the influence of the "SHE MATTERS" radio programme, broadcasted on Fresh FM, on addressing and reducing domestic violence among women in the Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State. The study examines the strategies employed by the programme to raise awareness, provide support, and empower women to combat domestic violence within their households. To study the Influence of Fresh FM She Matters Radio Programme on Domestic Violence Among Women in Oluyole local government, Ibadan, Oyo State, the researchers adopted the survey research method. A Survey questionnaire was designed to gather quantitative data from a representative sample of women in Oluyole local government.
Through this quantitative data analysis,, the research highlights the positive impact of "SHE MATTERS" in promoting gender equality, enhancing women's safety, and fostering community dialogue on combating domestic violence. Findings suggest that the radio programme has effectively engaged and mobilized women in Oluyole, leading to increased awareness, empowerment, and advocacy against domestic violence. The article concludes with recommendations for sustaining and expanding the programme's reach to further contribute to the eradication of domestic violence in the region.Keywords
